The Stanley Ratley Waste Minimisation Scholarship has been created to encourage the development of sustainable packaging and waste minimisation solutions for food products in New Zealand.
The scholarship will support individuals, whose proposed solutions have the potential to support New Zealand in tackling the problem of increasing waste. The grant is expected to also have secondary impact in the environmental and community development sectors.
Recipients will develop or continue the development of sustainable packaging and waste minimisation solutions that will address the increasing volume of waste in New Zealand.
The innovation component will look at research and design to better understand how this solution will successfully impact (or contribute to the impact of) our circular economy, the sustainability of the product and manufacturing process.
Consideration should be given not only to environmentally friendly packaging but also the increased demand for accessibility and managed costs to remain competitive in both the local and global marketplace.
Who can apply?
Enrolled Young Enterprise Scheme students 2024 or YES Alumni planning their future business in sustainable packaging and waste minimisation solutions for food products in New Zealand.
Applications will be accepted for up to $10,000 amount granted based on application.
