Mayor Wayne Brown

Mayor of Auckland

Wayne is an Auckland-born engineer and businessman with a strong background in infrastructure and construction. He has chaired several major public organizations, including Transpower, Vector Limited, Kordia, and the Auckland District Health Board (ADHB).

As Chair of the ADHB (2001–2007), he successfully oversaw the timely and under-budget construction of the $500 million Auckland City Hospital. He also served as Mayor of the Far North District from 2004 to 2013.

In 2022, Wayne was elected Mayor of Auckland, securing victory by more than 54,000 votes.
